Dr. Alberto Escudero-Pascual got his PhD in computer security and privacy at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. Since the early 90's he has been participating in numerous international projects using the Internet as a tool for social change. His work includes building wireless access  in Laos, fixing network security problems in Senegal, and localizing free and open source software in Tanzania. His areas of interest are covered in several publications that include such topics as: communication infrastructure, data protection and intellectual property, wireless mobility, and localization of open source software.  He is implementing the Kamusi Project Mirror Server at the University of Dar es Salaam, as well as contributing other programming innovations to the project.

He and Martin Benjamin are pleased to offer TuKsi Koti la Rangi (Tux Paint in Swahili) as their 2004 holiday gift to Kamusi Project visitors - the first Swahili software for children!
